Ugh.

Today I checked the Les Mis forum on ff.net, for the first time in several weeks. I am amazed at the extraordinary amount of crap that has surfaced there of late. More surprising is that nobody seems to have jumped all over it with the standard "This is in the wrong category/run spellcheck/don't substitute numbers for letters" fare. But I digress...

What's odd is that many of the more prolific (good) writers in the fandom seemed to have vanished. As for me, I am almost entirely out of ideas as far as Les Mis goes. I suppose I'm writing this because I'd like to see some of the better writers return to the forum. And also because I'm looking for inspiration of some sort. So, if anybody can offer the aforementioned, it would be appreciated.

Actually, I have several things I'm in the middle of typing up. Do not despair quite yet.

I keep wanting to continue some of my stories... but inspiration is gone. (Although the plot keeps growing.)

I was going to comment on some of the fics there (The Jolyseey? I adore the little hypochondriac, but he belongs in 19th century France, not some bizzaro world spin-off of ancient Greece) but reading them made me actually *want* to write my AP World essay comparing the Neolithic and Industrial Revolutions.

I think it's just a combination of homework, distaste for actually reading the "stories" in question, and a fervent desire to avoid *looking* at the "Les Mis" category of ff.net.

(P.S. I am writing, but I choose the POV of Bahorel, and he's difficult to write *is miserable*. Also, our other computer was declared broken and all my writing’s been lost *cries*)

Fweee, you have World AP?! Injustice, I say!

And yes, Bahorel is a stubborn jerk who is impossible to write. Now we know why Hugo killed him off early. ;__; Good luck!

Thanks! He's just... so belligerent, yet well- informed. He hates everything, yet seems to be friends with everyone, including lawyers, who he thinks are the antichrist. Then, of course, he's also an expert on building barricades, and he's extraordinarily violent and bombastic. So... he's an engineering student with an anger management problem, maybe?

Argh, *this* is why no one writes fics on him! You can't just have him going around yelling, "To hell with [insert noun here]!" but you can't really figure out what *else* he'd say!
